Ben began dancing in his native Virginia with the School of Richmond Ballet and the Appomattox Regional Governor’s School. Eventually, he moved on to dance at the Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory under Victoria Mazzarelli, Eleanor D’Antuono, and Kirk Peterson. During his time at the Nutmeg, Ben attended Alonzo King LINES Ballet’s summer intensive and won a gold medal at the Connecticut Classic ballet competition. After his graduation, Ben was able to perform with a modern dance company at Jacob’s Pillow and joined the Charlotte Ballet. He spent one year as an apprentice there and another as a member of their second company as well as being in residence at the Chautauqua Institution. In Charlotte, he was fortunate to perform works by Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux and Dwight Rhoden, to be coached by Patricia McBride, and to be a part of new creations by Sasha Janes and Mark Diamond. Ben also has a strong interest in dance film and has created a number of collaborative projects with friends. He is very much looking forward to his new journey in Denver with the Wonderbound family.
