Wonderbound and Pinnacle Charter School have partnered since 2008 to provide Denver’s north metro community a quality theater that accommodates the needs of the area’s professional performing arts organizations. This unique relationship provides Pinnacle full-time professional theater management by Wonderbound’s production team for all of Pinnacle’s school performance and third-party renters in trade for use of the theater for all of Wonderbound’s season productions. The Performing Arts Complex at Pinnacle Charter School now presents more than 30 groups annually.
With this partnership, Wonderbound also runs a professional technical theater internship program for Pinnacle High School students interested in learning stagecraft. Wonderbound’s production manager and technical director work with 6-10 students each school year to train them in stage lighting, sound, rigging and theater maintenance. Interns gain both classroom instruction and on the job experience working with local professional theaters as well as the opportunity to meet with the Wonderbound production team after every production to ask questions, gain special insight into the performances and learn about the design processes.
