Fall of 2015 opens upon our most imaginative season yet. From the Dust Bowl, to glam rock, to the depths of human temptation, Wonderbound will guide you on an unforgettable journey. Do you have the curiosity to keep up?
Hello, world. My name is Elena Gutierrez and I am the newest addition to the Wonderbound family. I am in my senior year at East High School and will be involved during the 2015-2016 season helping to reach new audiences, connect with more people, and ultimately expand the scope of Wonderbound. I am honored to have the opportunity to be a part of this amazing company and am so excited to work with such an innovative team of people.
I was formally introduced to the concept that is Wonderbound on October 9th, the opening night of The Seven Deadly Sins. I had sat in on one rehearsal previously, watched a few videos, done my research; however, I was anxious to see how everything would come together.
As it turns out, I was in for a pleasant surprise.
The Seven Deadly Sins examined the seven vices of humanity through the lens of a wedding and managed to weave elegance, comedy, tradition, and pop culture into one masterful work of art. Every aspect of the performance oozed professionalism. Tom Hagerman’s music, played by members of the Colorado Symphony, was a chef d’oeuvre in itself; the storyline and characters, charming; and the choreography… Well, I have never gone to a ballet and seen the chicken dance, the Bernie, and a pas de deux in one night; that is, I suppose, until now.
I believe The Seven Deadly Sins was the best way for me to experience Wonderbound for the first time. It opened my eyes to an alternate dimension of creativity, a new depth of possibility limited only by the imagination. What’s even more extraordinary: I am now a part of that vision.
It was such a pleasure to meet you, Wonderbound. I look forward to our time together and cannot wait to see what this season will bring.
